Here are the latest news from the Great Film Adventure sets!
At the beginning of June, the students of the Social Primary School No. 4 in Poznań started the realization phase of their movie ‘Córeczka tatusia’ (Daddy’s Girl).
Under the artistic supervision of director Tomasz Dettloff, the young filmmakers (aged 13) for 3 days worked on the story of Julka, the protagonist of the film combining the genre conventions of comic book and teen drama.
Curious what the movie is about?
Since her father has not returned from another dangerous mission, Julka has to face new challenges on her own. The most difficult moment comes when the girl discovers that the family of Robert – the boy she is interested in – has much to do with her father’s “accident”.
Young crew shared with us some memories and impressions from shooting days:
From my perspective, I mean the perspective of the stage manager and the children's director, those three days were really hard. It was boiling hot, but still I had a great time and felt like I was on the set of some Hollywood production (although I realize that the teams working there go through much tougher things than us here). I think that working on such a movie gave me a lot of fun and experience, which is why I liked it, despite the high temperature outside. Now I feel great satisfaction that we’ve succeeded and can’t wait to see the results.

Thanks to this project I had the chance to see how the film is being made. I could observe what was going on behind the scenes, which made me understand how important proper organization and communication during creation was. I also realized how hard is this kind of work, not only for actors, but also for directors, operators and costume designers. At the same time, I learnt how much fun filmmaking can bring.

Yet another – already 25th – edition of the Great Film Adventure for me is, infallibly, an amazing opportunity to play the game of cinema. It is always fun, still fun combined with the desire to achieve a professional effect at every stage of work – obviously within the scope of the capabilities and objective limitations. As it is the joint effort of professionals and young cinema enthusiasts that forms the unique formula of these workshops. For me, meeting and cooperating with a group of very young people, full of commitment to discover the secrets of the film technique and trade and becoming a crew on the way, is a source of real satisfaction.

In June, another crew, working under the artistic supervision of Jacek Filipiak started photo shooting for their movie as well.
And after the holidays, in September, yet another two films being created within the frame of the 25th Great Film Adventure will be shot. The young filmmakers of those two images are guided by Michał Rosa and Maciej Sterło-Orlicki.
We’ll keep you updated, obviously!
Project implemented under the patronage and with the support of the Polish Filmmakers Association.
