The white silence of the mountains is disturbed by colorful winter sports enthusiasts enjoying the ski slopes. This short film is an audiovisual experience – an abstract dance of freedom that reflects the joy and fragility of existence.

The Latvian filmmaker is one of the world’s masters of experimental animation, in which he explores the relationship between sound and image, paying special attention to rhythm in art. Zbigniew Rybczynski, to whom Jansons refers, used to do the same in his first films. In the 10-minute Freeride in C, he focuses on skiing, portraying the sport through its visual attributes, but he doesn’t forget about movement in particular, exploiting its rhythm to the fullest, supported by the music of industrial classic, the band Young Gods.
