Ale Kino! Festival

Ale Kino! is the second-oldest film festival in Poland and the second-oldest festival of films for young audiences in the world.

For years, we have been presenting the best and latest productions from Poland and around the world, including films awarded at the most prestigious international festivals. Each year, the event attracts young audiences, adults, families, and teachers with school or preschool groups.

At Ale Kino!, we screen feature films, animations, and documentaries—both shorts and full-length films. The heart of the Ale Kino! program is the competition, divided into the following sections:

  • Feature film competition for children

  • Feature film competition for teenagers

  • Feature film competition for young adults

  • Short film competition for children

  • Short film competition for teenagers

  • Short film competition for young adults

Several juries present awards in these categories. Check out what those awards are.

These films often offer new perspectives, are surprisingly honest, and create space for emotional experiences and meaningful conversations. Screenings are accompanied by meetings with filmmakers, film scholars, and experts, and post-film discussions help young people better understand themselves and the world around them.

The Ale Kino! Festival is also a chance to actively participate in the world of film. Young people are not only the audience—they can also sit on juries, curate their own film sets, and take part in deciding the awards.

Professionals working in and interested in cinema for young audiences are invited to Ale Kino! Pro—a platform for discussion and exchange of experiences, aimed at supporting the development of Polish cinema for young viewers.

Join us and discover cinema that inspires, moves, and opens up the world!
