What we do
Ale Kino! is more than just a festival. It’s not only a celebration of cinema for young audiences, but a year-round offering of initiatives that allow children and youth to discover film as a space for experience, conversation, and co-creation of culture.
Projects within Ale Kino!:
- Ale Kino! Festival – for over 60 years, Ale Kino! has been inviting young viewers to the cinema to experience the best films from around the world together. The lineup includes over 100 titles from various continents—ranging from animation and documentaries to feature films—with premieres, special events, and meetings with filmmakers. This event brings together 15,000 participants each year and fosters a community of viewers open to the diversity of the cinematic world.
- Youth Programme Board – a space where the voices of youth genuinely shape the festival. The council, made up of individuals aged 16–18, watches and evaluates films alongside the programming team, creating their own recommendations for the official program.
- Ale Kino! Club – a summer offer for young film lovers. Ale Kino! Club is a place for meetings, discussions, and film-related activities—an ideal way to kick off the holidays with films and various events prepared by the festival team.
- Ale Kino! z Klasą – a platform created for teachers and educators who want to work with short films in schools and kindergartens. The site offers films accompanied by educational materials that support the development of students’ emotional and social skills.
- Wędrujące Ale Kino! – a traveling version of the festival that visits local cultural centers throughout Poland. This allows young viewers from smaller towns to also experience the festival atmosphere and watch selected films from the program.
- Oko Kalejdoskopu – a nationwide Animated Film Showcase Created by Children. This unique platform presents and promotes the creative work of the youngest filmmakers. We invite creators aged 5–17—both individuals and groups—to share their animated imaginations. The project nurtures creativity and gives participants the opportunity to showcase their films to a wide audience.
