Kids & Families

Define your family however you like – parents with children, children with grandparents, teens with aunts and uncles – and join the world of cinema lovers!

Every year during the Festival, dozens of films await you – to watch, to experience, to discuss. The festival screenings offer not only cinematic adventures from around the world, but also the chance to meet filmmakers after the screenings. Conversations with directors, producers, actors, and actresses – often children themselves – provide insight into the fascinating world of film.

This year, we’ll meet in cinemas in Poznań from November 23 to 30.

Check out what we’ve prepared for you and your children for the entire year:

Ale Kino! Club

This is a place for people who love cinema and want to actively co-create our Festival. In July, we invited young people aged 11 to 13 to watch short films together. After the screenings, we discussed the films and selected a few that will be shown during the 43th edition of the Ale Kino! Festival. We will keep you updated on the Club’s upcoming plans.

Children’s Jury and Teen Jury

The recruitment for the 2025 Children’s Jury and Teen Jury has been completed!

During the Festival, the juries will watch films in cinemas, discuss them, and then select the best films of the 43rd edition of Ale Kino!

Being part of the Jury is a unique chance to get to know the Festival “behind the scenes,” watch many excellent films from around the world, and meet directors and other film creators, including child actors. It’s also an opportunity to speak in a public forum, build a sense of agency, and make new friends.

Each year, we invite jury members who:

  • are passionate about cinema

  • live in or near Poznań

  • are available to be in cinemas and watch films during the Festival

  • are 9–10 years old (Children’s Jury) or 11–13 years old (Teen Jury)

  • prepare and send us a video statement on a given topic
(This year’s topics were: “My favorite film that I’d like to show at the festival” – Children’s Jury, and “A film that recently amazed me” – Teen Jury)

We will present the selected jury members on our website and social media in September.

Ale Kino! Festival

Our program includes:

  • short and feature films for children of various ages, from preschool to school-aged

  • meetings with film creators

  • special events, such as the Secret Screening – a unique screening for those who enjoy cinematic surprises. At the start, we’ll reveal only the film’s genre and the meeting point. From there, we’ll go to an unusual screening location (not a cinema), and only then will you learn the film’s title right before watching.

As a festival audience member, you can vote for the best film of the Festival and help decide which feature film will receive the Audience Award. Voting takes place after the screenings – we’ll inform you before each screening about the opportunity to cast your vote.

See you at the cinemas in Poznań from November 23 to 30, 2025!
