Film description

Munich, 1962. A 12-year-old girl takes a difficult and courageous step: she sues her father. Based on a true story, this moving film recounts the first well-known case in Germany in which a child accused a parent of abuse.

Karla not only bravely speaks out and demands justice for herself, but—with the support of Judge Lamy and his secretary, Mrs Steinberg—she does it on her own terms. She refuses to give detailed testimony, thus avoiding a re-traumatisation. As a result, we as viewers are presented with a portrait of a strong individual fighting for justice, rather than that of a victim.

In the lead role: the outstanding Elise Krieps, daughter of Vicky Krieps.
