Young audience cinema in the new issue of the ‘EKRANy’ magazine

Kilka sztuk czasopisma 'ekrany' leżące jedno na drugim.

It is a great pride and joy for us that, as the Ale Kino! festival team, we have co-produced the latest issue of Ekrany magazine.

The publication is dedicated to film culture, and its latest issue focuses on the cinema of young audiences – a subject that is particularly close to our hearts.

What can you find in this issue?

The issue begins with a column by the editor-in-chief, Miłosz Stelmach, on the status of young audience film. On the following pages, you will find a look at cinema from the perspective of new childchood studies, the question of whether family cinema is for adults or for children, as well as the history and perspectives of cinema for young audiences. A map of children’s film festivals is featured, as well as the topography of the children’s room appearing in films. Those curious about the behind-the-scenes of the film industry may be interested in the text on children’s labour on set.

Too big for fairy tales?

The premiere of the issue is accompanied by a discussion ‘Too big for fairy tales? Cinema for Young Audiences’, with the participation of Joanna Żak, producer of our Festival and coordinator of Ale Kino! Pro. The specifics of cinema for young audiences, its role in film culture, the latest trends in Poland and its educational value will be discussed.
